Who We Are
The Spokane Alyce Baker Chapter consists of members of the American Institute of Parliamentarian (AIP) living in the Spokane, Washington area. Chartered by AIP as Chapter #2 on December 7, 1963, the objectives of the chapter, as set forth in its Bylaws, are:
1. To promote the use of parliamentary law;
2. To elevate the standards of parliamentarians; and
3. To encourage public interest in parliamentary procedure.
Meetings
Regular meetings normally are held at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month, except July and August, in Room 128 of the Health Science Building, 310 N. Riverpoint Boulevard on the EWU Riverpoint Campus, in Spokane. (NOTE: This is a change from our previous meeting location.)
Each meeting includes both chapter business, and an educational program on one or more parliamentary authorities, including:
* Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR)
* The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure (TSC)
* Demeter’s Rules of Parliamentary Law and Procedure
* Riddick’s Rules of Procedure
* Cannon’s Concise Guide to Rules of Order
Our next meeting will be the regularly scheduled monthly meeting on September 17, 2009. The educational session will be "Minutes," from Lesson 17 of Parliamentary Law and Procedure, presented by Barbara Pugh.
